NEWSBRIEF: RUSSIA – Taliban is no longer considered a terrorist organization in Russia after a Supreme Court ruling today, Thursday April 17.

Taliban has been on the terrorists list in Russia since 2003, which blocked any contacts or diplomatic relations with the group in Russia, terming it as a criminal offence under Russian law.
This suspension enables diplomatic engagements between Kabul and Moscow, and takes effect immediately.
A copy of the ruling will now be sent to the Federal Security Service of Russia within 5 days for the updating of the list of organizations that Moscow considers as terrorist organizations.
