NEWSBREAK: IRAN – The indirect US-Iran talks in Oman will be held tomorrow Saturday, April 12, Iran’s Foreign Minister Abbas Araqchi has confirmed.

The Indirect Talks to take Place in the Afternoon
From the Iranian sources, the teams from both nations will arrive in the morning at Muscat and initialize the talks by first meeting the Omani Foreign Minister.
The Iranian side will be headed by the Iran’s Foreign Minister Abbas Araqchi, while the American side by its special envoy for the Middle East, Steve Witkoff.
Iran’s Redlines
Iran has emphasized that it won’t tolerate threats or excessive demands regarding its nuclear program or its defense industry during the talks and encouraged the American side to express honesty and not hypocrisy.
Talking to the press, the Iran’s administration spokeswoman Fatemeh Mohajerani emphasized that the US-Iran talks will be indirect and an “opportunity” as well as a “test,” adding that “the ball is on the American court.”
She clarified that “caring about the national interests will be taken into account.”
The US-Iran Talks Centered Around Iran’s Nuclear Program
“The nuclear topic, which means making transparency and giving assurances about the peaceful nature of Iran’s nuclear program in exchange for the removal of the cruel sanctions, will be the only topic of the talks,” Iran’s Foreign Minister, Abbas Araqchi told reporters.
To him, like Fatemeh Mohajerani, the talks are an opportunity to give diplomacy a chance as well as test whether US is serious since “it has a dark record of unilateralism and violation of commitments.”
Iran to Assess the American Intent in the Upcoming Talks
Iran rejected direct talks after Donald Trump’s threats of military action, but decided to have indirect talks through Oman instead.
Foreign Ministry spokesperson Esmaeil Baqaei said that Iran does not prejudge or predict, but instead seeks to assess the “other side’s intent.”
“In earnest and with candid vigilance we are giving diplomacy a genuine chance. U.S. should value this decision formed despite their prevailing confrontational hoopla,” he added.
US-Iran Talks to Proceed with Dignity and Strength
Vice-president and Head of the Atomic Energy Organization of Iran, Mohammad Eslami have said that the US-Iran talks will be conducted with dignity and strength, refusing external pressure.
He reaffirmed the Iran’s commitment to advancing its nuclear program, saying that while the path to interactions is always open, Iran won’t interact from a position of weakness.
