NEWSBRIEF: RUSSIA – Russia-US talks to resume next week, says Kirill Dmitriyev after returning home from his official visit to Washington. He however termed the current Russia-US relations as requiring “cautious optimism” since the American “deep state” and third party countries are trying to sabotage any dialogue between the two countries.
The American Disinformation Campaign Against Russia
Speaking to Russian media, Kirill expressed his surprise in the way the American people are made to believe that Russia is the one violating the moratorium on energy infrastructure strikes reached between Ukraine and Russia.

He expressed his concern that even high level people in Trump’s administration are unaware that Ukraine is the culprit.
Continued Blame on Energy Infrastructure Strikes
Both Russia and Ukraine has been accusing each other of ceasefire violation numerous times since it was enacted in March 18, with no nation admitting to be at fault as per the claims of the other.
Those nations backing Ukraine, majorly the European nations have been backing Ukrainian claims, arguing that Russia isn’t interested in the ceasefire, while Russia continues to deny these claims stating that the root causes must be addressed to solve the conflict completely.
With continued rhetoric, whether based on facts, hatred of Putin, or just collective Russophobia, France’s Macron and UK’s Starmer ever have been in the forefront in condemning Russia with claims of “expansionism,” and leading the EU in doing the same.
The American Secretary of State, Marco Rubio had previously stated that whether Russia is serious about the ceasefire or not, will soon be discovered.
The Trump administration has been optimistic about handling the Ukraine conflict as the US president touts his “great relationship” with Russia’s Putin. However, this has angered many ally nations in Europe and some people in the US as well, which makes the upcoming talks crucial in establishing good relations between the two countries.
