The blast happened at 6 AM, local time at the Taliban police headquarters today, April 10, the local media reported.

A large plume of smoke could be seen from a distance, indicating the severity of the blast.

Ambulances and fire fighters responded to the scene.

The injured were guarding the container before it exploded according to the Kandahar Police spokesperson, Asadullah Jamshid.

“The explosion was the result of deteriorated, unexploded ammunition being stored in a container,” he added.
