NEWSBREAK: HUNGARY – Hungary withdraws from the ICC citing the court has now become a political body, just after the official state visit of the Israeli Prime Minister, Benjamin Netanyahu.

Speaking on Thursday, April 3, the Hungarian chief of staff, Gergely Gulyas has said that his country will initiate the procedure within the international and constitutional framework later within the day.
He criticized the ICC of being used as a political body.
Israel’s Netanyahu Visits Hungary
The move by Hungary to withdraw from the ICC comes during the state visit of the Israeli Prime Minister, Benjamin Netanyahu.
Citing the arrest warrant against Netanyahu, Gergely lamented that issuing the arrest warrant for the Israeli head of government was the saddest example of the way the court has become a political body and that the Hungarian government considers that unacceptable.
He added that due to this, Hungary has decided to end its participation in ICC’s activities.
Hungary Wants to “Resolve the Questionable Situation”
Gergely said that the Hungarian national assembly has never proclaimed the ICC statutes, and therefore they’re not part of the Hungarian law and so now Hungary opts leaving the international court, rather than proclaiming its statutes.
This is a developing story, we’ll update with new details as it becomes available.
