Russia has confirmed that its military forces are responsible for the Sunday Sumy Airstrike on Ukraine, but claimed the strike targeted a Ukrainian army command meeting that was being held in Sumy.

Moscow has criticized the Ukrainian army for what it says is the continued use of “civilians as human shield” by continuously holding military personnel meetings in densely populated areas.

The strike has claimed 34 lives according to Ukrainian media, including 2 children and injured over 100.

The Russian Ministry of Defense has said that the “targeted strike” killed over 60 Ukrainian forces.

Russia has emphasized that it doesn’t target residential buildings or social institutions.

EU foreign ministers have scheduled an emergency meeting to discuss the strike in Luxembourg today.

Both Russia and Ukraine continue to strike each other as the conflict between the two nations continues.
