What we Know
On April 1, a Petronas gas pipeline leakage near Malaysia’s capital resulted to an inferno that stretched 500 meters.
This happened near a residential area, with the response teams evacuating 0ver 110 people.
In response, Petronas has closed the valve for the affected pipeline, reducing the gas pressure to help reduce the damage and contain the fires.
Effects Caused by the Fire
Due to the gas pressure, the fires were blazing up high and could be visible from long distances.
Residential buildings and private properties like cars have been affected and damaged.
33 people have sustained injuries.
Some of the victims are receiving care in Sri Maha Kaliaman Temple and Nurul Iman Surau.
Rescue Operations Ongoing
Some people are still trapped inside their homes and the fire, though not as fierce as before, is still being contained.
Putra Heights Masjid hall has been set aside as an evacuation center.
